CARBONDALE, IL — Two people wanted in connection with a shooting that happened Sunday in the 500 block of East Main Street in Carbondale have been arrested. According to Carbondale Police, during the course of the investigation, detectives identified 19-year-old McKenzie A. Timms of Carbondale and 18-year-old Zoremoreyon J.D. Moore of Marion as the two people involved in the incident.

Marion Police located the two and arrested them without incident in Marion.

Moore is charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm. Timms is charged with Concealing or Aiding a Fugitive and Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer. They were lodged in the Jackson County Jail.

The Jackson County State’s Attorney’s office will review the investigation for possible additional charges.

According to a Carbondale Police report, officers received a report of shots fired and responded to the scene early Sunday morning where they found a gunshot victim. They immediately began working to save the victim’s life. The victim was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

During the course of the investigation, officers learned the suspect fired several shots at the victim and then fled south on foot between the buildings in the 500 block of East Main on the south side of the roadway. The suspect was described as a younger black male standing 5’10” tall, wearing a red or a maroon hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.
