WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL — Two people were killed Friday morning in a crash involved a pickup truck and a semi in Williamson County.

According to Illinois State Police, at 9:10 a.m. a semi-trailer truck driven by 56-year-old Darrin L. Bramlet of Raleigh was going south on Illinois 37 at the intersection of Illinois 148 as a pickup truck driven by 34-year-old Nicholas B. Strum of Kewanee, IL was going west as the same intersection.

Bramlet had stopped at the stop sign at the intersection, and when he attempted to turn left onto Illinois 148, he failed to yield to Strum who didn’t have a stop sign. The front end of Strum’s truck struck the driver’s side of Bramlet’s semi.

Strum and his passenger, 36-year-old Robin M. Sides of Evansville, IN, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Bramlet refused medial attention.

ISP says no further information will be released at this time.
