SALEM, IL — A 23-year-old Salem man is back in the Marion County Jail after being arrested a short distance away from a reported burglary. Tristan Rankin was free on bond in an earlier theft and burglary case when Marion County Sheriff’s deputies stopped his vehicle near Route 37 and Cross Road.
A neighbor near that intersection had just reported a suspicious vehicle leaving. When Rankin was stopped nearby, items reportedly taken from the home were found in his vehicle. Rankin was arrested for alleged burglary and also charged with driving while license suspended and illegal possession of ammunition without a FOID card.
He was taken to the Marion County Jail.
