CAHOKIA, Ill. (AP) — Two southwestern Illinois men are jailed on $1 million bond after being accused of the robbery-related shooting death of a Cahokia man. Twenty-four-year-old Romerio Ellington of Centreville and 19-year-old Javonta Pitts of East St. Louis are charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery. Commander David Roth of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis alleges the Nov. 28 shooting death of 20-year-old Deangelo Williams happened during what Roth called “a night of senseless violence in the midst of a crime spree” by Ellington and Pitts. Williams’s body was found the next day in unincorporated St. Clair County. Online court records don’t show whether Ellington or Pitts have attorneys.
