MARION COUNTY — Bail has been set for Marion County teens charged Thursday morning in court with multiple Class X felonies stemming from the alleged armed robbery of a man Wednesday morning in Sandoval.

Cameron Corrie and Gavin Mays, both of Salem, along with James Planitz, of Odin, were each formally charged in Marion County court Thursday morning with Home invasion involving a firearm, home invasion causing injury and armed robbery, all Class X felonies. A Class X felony is punishable by between 6 and 30 years in prison if convicted.

Sentencing enhancements are also possible when it’s found a firearm was involved in the commission of a crime.

All three subjects are 18-years-old. Bail for Corrie has been set at $300,000 and he has been appointed a public defender to represent him. Bail for Planitz and Mays has been set at $250,000 each and they both asked for time to hire private attorneys.

They’re accused of beating and robbing a male victim at a home in the 300 block of Oklahoma in Sandoval Wednesday morning. The victim reportedly had gone to the location to sell someone an X-box.

He reported that when he arrived at the residence three males beat him and took the X-box he was selling, along with $2,000 cash from his wallet. He reported that at least two of the subjects were armed with guns.

The three defendants were ordered in court Thursday to have no contact with the alleged victim who at least two of them were acquainted with prior to the alleged robbery.

Preliminary hearings for the subjects have been set for October 16.
