ILLINOIS (RFD) —- Deer hunting ramps up Monday in Illinois. The archery season begins October 1st and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources is offering a few reminders for hunters.

Schweizer also says if you plan to hunt public land, make sure you check the regulations for the specific site and if you’re hunting someone’s private land, make sure you have their permission because trespass laws do apply.

The two firearm deer weekends in Illinois are Nov. 16th through the 18th and Nov. 29th to Dec. 2nd.

More information on hunting requirements is available at “dnr.illinois.gov”.
