MARION — Registered voters in Williamson County will be receiving new voter registration cards in the mail.

According to Williamson County Clerk Amanda Barnes, cards were mailed out Thursday. If you do not receive a card, call 998-2112 to verify your registration in the clerk’s system or visit williamsoncountyil.gov and click on check my registration to verify that you are a registered voter.

Barnes says the new voter card will replace all those previously issued and will include the voter’s name, address, township, precinct, polling place and units of government for which you are entitled to vote.  The next election will be for the General Primary Election on March 17, 2020.  Your name and address must be updated in order to be eligible to vote a full ballot on Election Day.

Barnes urges voters to check their voter’s card and familiarize themselves with their voting districts (this should match your tax bill) and polling place where you vote on Election Day.  If you have questions, call the clerk’s office at 998-2112.

In order to assist the County Clerk’s office in keeping their registration files updated, Barnes is asking that any voter’s card received for a person no longer residing in the household be returned to the County Clerk’s office with any forwarding information. If the voter is deceased and the death occurred out of Williamson County, please notify the clerk’s office in writing.
