A 45 year old Clinton Maxey of Mount Vernon is facing felony charges after police say he traveled to meet someone he believed was underage for sex. According to Mount Vernon Police, Maxey had been communicating with an individual he thought was a minor before going to a meeting location, where officers took him into custody. Authorities say no actual minor was involved and no one was in danger. Maxey is charged with indecent solicitation and traveling to meet a minor. Prosecutors are seeking to deny his pretrial release, with a detention hearing scheduled.
