CLAY COUNTY — A late-night Saturday crash in Clay County Claimed the life of a 39-year-old motorcycle driver.

According to the Clay County Coroner’s Office, around 11:50 p.m. Saturday, Gregory Gumbel crossed the center line for unknown reasons, went down into a ditch, stuck a culvert and was ejected from his motorcycle.

Gumbel was taken by ambulance to the Clay County Hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

An autopsy is scheduled to be completed.
