NASHVILLE, Ill. – Two Salem men have been sentenced in Washington County Court for the burglary last year of Holzhauer’s Auto and Motorsports Group in Nashville, Illinois.
According to Washington County State’s Attorney Daniel R. Janowski, on November 7, 2023, 42-year-old Eric A. Dewitt, and 25-year-old Tristan N. Rankin, both of Salem, were sentenced for Class 3 Burglary.
Dewitt and Rankin pleaded guilty and admitted that on September 5, 2022, they entered a semi-trailer truck and trailer belonging to 618 Motorsports, taking two sets of keys and a hat.
Dewitt received a 54-month sentence in the Illinois Department of Corrections and six months of mandatory supervised release thereafter. Dewitt was also ordered to pay a fine plus court assessments. He’s already serving concurrent 6-year sentences for burglaries out of Marion and Clinton Counties.
Rankin received a 24-month sentence in the Illinois Department of Corrections and 6 months of mandatory supervised release thereafter. Rankin was also ordered to pay a fine plus court assessments. Rankin is already serving a concurrent 3-year sentence for burglary out of Jefferson County.
