I have been hunting for the last 5 years, and I made the mistake of head hunting. I have never killed a deer ever until this year. Opening day I went and sat in the deer stand at about 2:30 pm, about 5:30 pm this 8 pointer came walking down the trail. He got within 30 yards of me and i took my shot. He ran about 40 yards if that and was down in the thick it. Great hunt.

Headed to the stand to enjoy the great outdoors. This buck came by after a doe had passed a few minutes earlier. Walking broadside I grunted to stop him. 20 yard shot, double lung and didn't go 20! This is the 54th buck over a score of 130 inches I have taken. Blessed to be able to do this

I am entering my 12 year old son cutler. He shot his biggest buck ever with a bow this past weekend. Cutler lost his aunt a few years back and she was looking over him on the anniversary of her death as he shot this great buck all by himself.

October 9th 2024. I decided to go hunting and I got out there at about 2:00 p.m. At 5:30 and it's starting to get dark and I hadn't seen a single deer I hadn't even gotten any notifications on any of my cameras. I felt I should have gotten a picture somewhere but nothing so I just assumed that they weren't going to be moving and it was time to pack up and go home. So I pull the camera off the camera arm, pulled my bow off my gear hanger and started to lower it and I heard something and I looked up and I seen the back half of a deer through all of the thick brush. So I slowly pulled my bow back up (I had lowered it about 5-6 ft at this point) and as soon as I grabbed it he clears a few trees and I see that it's pretty boy and my heart starts thumping like crazy. He stayed up on the ridge a little bit which would have made it about a 50-yard shot and would have made it very difficult. But out of nowhere he turns right and beelines it almost right to me when I finally decided to take the shot he was right at 25 yards from me into a clearing. I don't know I'm a spiritual person and I feel like there was more involved in that then just a dear grazing I truly feel like it was my grandfather seeing everything that I'm trying to do and gracing me by guiding pretty boy to me but I took the shot and he took off. I seen that my arrow went completely through and was sticking in the ground on the other side I grabbed my binoculars and I seen blood dripping off the knot and the fletchings and I look up it pretty boy he'd win about 20 yards and was just standing there and all of a sudden he just drops and rolled all the way back down the hill so he was able to give me one last struggle to get him which was making me dragging back up the hill but this was my first ever chase so to speak and I can't say enough about how amazing deer hunting is and how much it has impacted my life in such a positive way!
