Betty Ann McKinney, 71, of Dix, Illinois, passed away at 10:07 pm May 2, 2023 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, Illinois.

She was born  on August 23, 1951 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Leonard and Myrtle (Ward) Loss.

Betty married Charles Elbert McKinney on April 17, 1982 and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2021.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Ellie (Ben) Saboff of Moro, Illinois, Terri (Robert) Pajares of Metarie, Louisiana, and Tammy (Barry) Chase of Gretna, Nebraska; grandsons, Nicholas, Nathan, Luke, Josh and Sheldon; granddaughters, Alex, Nicole, Sam, Kaydence, Noelle, Abagail, and Leia; brother, Gale Loss; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda McKinney; and siblings, Robert Loss, Floyd Loss, Earl Loss, Allen Loss, and Mary Jane January.

Betty worked at Good Samaritan Hospital for many years in the dietary/housekeeping department. She was of the Christian faith and loved her family especially all of her grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel in Woodlawn, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Ruth McCario officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
