TEXICO, Ill. — A 21-year-old Texico man is in the Jefferson County Jail following his arrest Friday night for the alleged stabbing of a man at a home on North Snapdragon Lane.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Kenny C. Snow was arrested late Friday night for allegedly stabbing 41-year-old Joshua E. Marshall at Marshall’s home where they both lived.

Deputies, along with Mt. Vernon police officers and Illinois State Police troopers responded to 21004 North Snapdragon Lane on a report of domestic violence and shots fired. It appears Snow is possibly Marshall’s son-in-law or in a similar relationship with the family.

Officers arrived at the home and found Marshall wounded, but Snow had already left the residence.

Marshall was transported to Crossroads Hospital before being airlifted to another hospital by Air Evac. Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services were dispatched to process the scene.

Snow was ultimately found walking on IL Hwy 37 near the intersection with Beal Rd. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jefferson County Jail.

He was formally charged Monday in Jefferson County Court with two Class X felony counts of armed violence, two Class 3 felony counts of aggravated battery – one for causing great bodily harm and one for use of a deadly weapon – and one Class 4 felony criminal damage to property. Bond remains to be set.

The investigation is ongoing with potential other charges possible, including cases being handled by the Mt. Vernon Police Department, occurring earlier the same day.
