MARION, IL — Two St. Louis area residents were arrested on various charges following “interdiction patrols” conducted by the Marion Police Department late Friday night in the area of I-57 and The Hill Avenue.

According to a Marion Police Facebook post, just before midnight officers initiated a traffic stop involving two vehicles that were apparently traveling together. During the investigation officers were able to conduct a search of both vehicles. Located and seized from the vehicles were two firearms, a felony amount of narcotics and approximately $23,000 in cash. Thirty-seven-year-old Michael Mosley of St. Louis County, Missouri was issued citations for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Forty-one-year-old Vaneesia Carr of O’Fallon, Missouri was issued citations for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.

Mosley and Carr were taken to the Williamson County Jail awaiting their first appearance in court. Marion Police say this is an ongoing investigation and additional charges are anticipated.
