CENTRALIA, IL — A 29-year-old Centralia man was arrested for allegedly striking a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy who was serving him papers Friday at his home.

Zachary Moore was arrested on charges of aggravated battery of a police officer, resisting arrest, and violation of an order of protection. The deputy who did not require medical treatment was reportedly trying to serve papers to  Moore on the violation of an order of protection case when Moore allegedly struck him and then resisted being taken into custody.

Moore was taken to the Marion County Jail.
