WASHINGTON COUNTY, IL — A 36-year-old Hoyleton man was taken to an area hospital with injuries after a vehicle he was in was involved in a two-vehicle crash on U.S Route 51 in Washington County Wednesday night.
According to Illinois State Police, around 7 p.m. Wednesday, 67-year-old Ricky True, of Irvington was driving a 2019 Kenworth semi-truck and trailer north on U.S. 51 when he was turning left onto the Interstate 64 westbound on-ramp. At that same time, Jason Everett was traveling southbound on U.S. 51 in a 2017 Ford pickup truck when True’s semi turned in front of him causing the pickup truck to strike the passenger side of the semi.
Everett was taken from the scene to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. True was cited for failure to yield when turning left.
