Mt. Vernon Man Sentenced on Meth Charge in White County

WHITE COUNTY, IL — A Mt. Vernon man was sentenced Monday in White County to state prison after his probation was revoked for new charges in another county.

According to White County State’s Attorney Denton Aud, 39-year-old Matthew D. Allen was sentenced to six years in state prison for Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 2 felony. Allen will also serve one year of mandatory supervised release. Aud says Allen had previously been placed on probation in June 2020. A petition to revoke was filed with the defendant’s probation ultimately being revoked Monday and the new sentence entered.

The White County Sheriff’s Department was the original arresting agency.
