BENTON, IL — A West Frankfort man was sentenced on a meth charge Monday in Franklin County.

According to Franklin County State’s Attorney Abby Dinn, 31-year-old Chad A. Turley entered a plea of guilty to Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine, a Class 1 felony. Turley received a sentence of 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a two-year period of Mandatory Supervised Release.

On March 9, 2021, the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force completed an undercover investigation into reports of Turley’s ongoing delivery of methamphetamine at his residence on East St. Louis Street in West Frankfort.

During the investigation, Southern Illinois Drug Task Force Agents worked with an undercover informant to purchase 7 grams of methamphetamine from Turley. Turley was indicted on the meth delivery charge on June 18, 2021.

The investigations into Turley’s case were conducted by the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force, the West Frankfort Police Department, and the Illinois State Police Crime Lab. The case was prosecuted by State’s Attorney Abby Dinn.
