SPRINGFIELD, IL — Republican candidate for Illinois Governor Paul Schimpf officially announced and launched his campaign’s bipartisan Law Enforcement Advisory Council. The Advisory Council brings over 150 years of first-hand experience to the campaign, and will provide invaluable knowledge on reviewing policy, conducting research, and developing solutions. This Advisory Council will give a voice to the thousands of law enforcement professionals across the state who are looking for an outlet to share the real-life struggles and danger they endure everyday to keep our families, neighborhoods, and communities safe.

Members of Schimpf’s Law Enforcement Advisory Council include:

  • Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Bullard
  • Monroe County Sheriff Neal Rohlfing
  • Randolph County Sheriff Shannon Wolff
  • Retired Illinois State Trooper Jay Wittenborn
  • Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Correction Lodge 263 President Scott Ward
  • Grundy County States Attorney Jason Helland
  • Correctional Case Work Supervisor Richard Graves

“One of the most important obligations of our government leaders is to keep our families and communities safe,” Paul Schimpf said. “As your governor, I will take responsibility. That starts with listening to law enforcement professionals. I will make sure our communities are secure and I’ll hold myself personally accountable for improving the safety of our families. I’m also committed to working with local leaders across the political spectrum to implement common sense solutions to crime in our neighborhoods.”

In addition to discussions with Schimpf, the Law Enforcement Advisory Council will also interact with their fellow law enforcement professionals throughout the state to receive their ideas.
