CENTRALIA, IL — Today is Gary Gaetti Day in Centralia and the Gaetti Sports Academy is hosting an Open House and Member Appreciation event in celebration .For the second year in a row, the City of Centralia has declared the opening day of baseball season in honor of the Centralia native.

Gaetti Sports Academy will host an event from 5-8pmthis evening. City officials will be joined by Gaetti and other former Major Leaguers in the celebration. The Member Appreciation event will include games and prizes, complimentary hot dogs, chips, and sodas for members. If a member brings a non-member friend, they both get free Gaetti Day T-shirts. The Open House event is open to the public and will include an all-age $10 for 10 Pitches Home Run Derby, from 6 to 8 p.m.

There will also be one-day-only package specials and a Crawfish Boil Fundraiser for the Centralia Youth Center.
