WAYNE COUNTY, IL — A 57-year-old Carlyle man was airlifted with life-threatening injuries Monday night from a crash scene in Wayne County.

According to the Illinois State Police, around 8:12 p.m. Monday, Brian Pillow was traveling west on Interstate 64 when the driver’s side steer tire of the semi-truck he was driving suffered a blowout that sent his rig into the median where it struck a group of trees.

Pillow reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and was flown to a regional hospital for treatment. No other details were released.
