MVTHS Foundation Supporting Two Large Technological Advances

MVTHS Foundation Supporting Two Large Technological Advances

MT. VERNON, IL — The Mt. Vernon Township High School Foundation is raising money in support of two very large technological projects in the Fine Arts Wing. The money raised will go towards the completion of both the music recording studio at the high school as well as theater sound and visual monitor systems.

Superintendent Melanie Andrews says if there is a need at MVTHS, The Foundation is quick to provide.

Current music curriculum already incorporates a music business and recording course each year.  Unfortunately, instruction has been “theoretical” only. This recording studio will allow students to have hands-on experience mixing and producing professional music recordings.

People’s National Bank is the title sponsor of the biggest fundraiser put on by the foundation, the annual golf scramble. Commercial Banker Dan Knox says their support is all in the name of bringing well-trained, professional alumni back to the community.

The Theatrics program currently performs high quality productions despite unfinished technologies in the theater. The completion of the stage speaker systems as well as visual monitors that will cast live performance in the dressing rooms, will bolster any production done at MVTHS.
