MT. VERNON — Like every school district across Illinois, the Mt. Vernon Township High School District is preparing its own plan for the upcoming school year.

The MVTHS board approved a tentative plan put forward by the administration that will have a blended online and in-person curriculum. The student body will be split into two groups. One group will attend school each day, while the other will attend those classes at the same time virtually through online learning. The groups will rotate and attend school every other day.

MVTHS Superintendent Melanie Andrews says the situation and the return plan remains fluid as guidance continues to change.

The first day of school is scheduled for Monday, August 17th.
