SOUTHERN ILLINOIS — High school sports teams across southern Illinois continue to prepare for the 2020-21 school year, even with an uncertain future for their competitive seasons.
Harrisburg Athletic Director Greg Langley says the Bulldogs’ sports teams continue working through the ever-changing COVID-19 restrictions.
The IHSA released a statement earlier this week deferring any further questions on return to play guidelines to ISBE, IDPH and the Governor’s office. Langley says he’s holding onto optimism for the return of high school sports, but after the IHSA’s statement, he doesn’t know what will happen with the fall season.
The IHSA Board of Director is scheduled to hold a special meeting later this month to decide on the future of fall sports and more.
