CENTRALIA — To honor one of its biggest hometown sports heroes, the City of Centralia passed a resolution at the City Council meeting on July 14th designating the opening day of Major League Baseball as Gary Gaetti Day in the City of Centralia.

The proclamation will be announced at Gaetti Sports Academy in Centralia on July 23rd at 5:00pm, which is the highly anticipated opening day for Major League Baseball this year.

The press and city officials will be attendance along with Gary Gaetti, other former Major Leaguers and members from the community.

Gaetti says “this is a huge honor, coming back here and seeing the support from the community has been incredible. Since opening, we have had hundreds of kids coming through to see the facility and signing up. I’m just so happy to be doing this in my hometown and to see it all coming together.”

Gary Gaetti has partnered up with the developers of Meadow Woods Holdings and Castle Ridge to bring a state-of-the-art 18,000 square foot sports facility to Centralia that combines curriculum from former Major League players and technology to provide a one-of-a-kind, results driven experience.
Castle Ridge is a five phase development on the former 60 acre property of Meadow Woods Golf Course.

The next phase of the development includes a 32,000 square foot castle with 3 restaurants and an event/banquet center.
