SPRINGFIELD — Illinois now has 1,285 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus along with a dozen deaths statewide.

That’s what state leaders reported at their daily COVID-19 press conference Monday afternoon.

Another southern Illinois county has joined the list of counties to report a COVID-19 case, as Monroe County in the Metro East reported their first case Monday.

After Governor J.B. Pritzker and President Donald Trump had a back-and-forth about the federal response to the outbreak a few days ago, Pritzker says he personally spoke with the President on Monday afternoon. He says he told the president what he, and governors around the country are facing when it comes to getting needed supplies.
