CARBONDALE — A Carbondale Man has been charged in an alleged armed robbery that happened Sunday afternoon in the 600 block of College Street in Carbondale.

 

According to Carbondale Police, officers responded to the area around 4:20 and learned four suspects approached the two victims and one of them displayed a handgun. The armed suspect took property from one of the victims and all the suspects subsequently fled on foot from the area.

 

The investigation into this incident has led to the identity of one of the suspects, 18-year-old Quantez McGee of Carbondale. Carbondale Police detectives obtained an arrest warrant for McGee on charges of armed robbery and arrested him on Wednesday. There were no injuries as a result of this incident. McGee is being held in the Jackson County Jail.

 

Two of the three additional suspects are described as black males. One was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and multi-color shorts and the second was last swearing a black sweatshirt with a hood. He was also described as having a long, dreadlock hairstyle. This investigation is currently active and ongoing.
