FAYETTE COUNTY — A 60-year old Vandalia man is set to be released on previously posted bond along with electronic monitoring after being charged with violating bond in a case charging him with four counts of production of child pornography.

Dennis J. Pickens had been free on $70,000 bond posted in June on a 2018 case charging him with four Class X felony counts of producing child pornography.

A warrant for his arrest was then issued earlier this week after authorities were made aware that Pickens allegedly contacted his three victims through a third party.

Following his initial arrest in late September, Pickens was prohibited in court from having contact with the three alleged victims, their family, or anyone under the age of 18. That restriction was again noted in June when he posted 10-percent of the $700,000 bail set in the case following his arrest.

Prosecutors claim in the original case that Pickens produced four videos, three depicting a victim under the age of 18 and one video containing two victims under the age of 18.

He is next scheduled to appear in court August 15 in both cases.
