SANDOVAL — A 51-year-old Coffeen woman is facing a felony theft charge in Marion County in connection with her time as secretary to the former Sandoval Junior/Senior High School Superintendent.

Marcia A. Parr has pleaded not guilty and demanded a jury trial in the case charging her with Class 3 felony theft of between $500 and $10,000.

According to Sandoval High School Superintendent Rob Miller, the case against Parr came after an audit revealed funds were missing from a high school savings account. The information was turned over to the Illinois State Police, which investigated the issue and turned its findings over to the Marion County State’s Attorney’s Office.

The charge against Parr was filed in March.

Miller says Parr had worked for the school district for approximately 5 years.

He says she served the majority of that time under former Superintendent Jennifer Garrison and only about 4-months for him. Parr’s employment for the Sandoval school district ended in June of 2018.

According to court records, Parr is next due back in Marion County court at 9 a.m. June 26.
