(Venice, IL) — A man is dead after a Metro East home invasion. Two masked men reportedly forced their way into the house on Oriole in Venice Monday night around 10:30. The man was shot while struggling with one of the men and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The men got away with a sack, but it’s not clear what they took. Two other people were in the home at the time, but they weren’t hurt.
