(Brookport, IL) — Brookport Police are releasing new information about a weekend shooting that forced them to close the Brookport bridge. Cops say 64-year-old Terry Babs shot 45-year-old DeWayne Sharp Saturday afternoon at Bab’s home. Sharp was shot several times after he tried to enter Bab’s house, but did not suffer any life threatening injuries. Meanwhile, Babs was arrested and was released Sunday from Massac County Jail. He was not charged with a crime. The state’s attorney’s office and State Police are currently looking into the matter.
