(Belleville, IL) — Belleville School District 201 will pay 100-thousand dollars to settle a sex-abuse lawsuit by a former high school student. The suit filed by the unnamed former female student claimed that the system failed to prevent former Belleville West High School teacher Ryan Endsley from having an illegal relationship with her. Insurance will cover the settlement, which was approved at a special board meeting last week, and revealed through a Freedom of Information Act request by the Belleville “News-Democrat.” Endsley is serving 30-months probation for criminal sexual abuse.
