(HARRISBURG, IL) — A Saturday traffic collision in Saline County has resulted in the hospitalization of four individuals. According to the preliminary traffic crash investigative details, at approximately 3:26 p.m. on Saturday, the driver of the 2000 GMC Safari van was eastbound on Illinois Route 13 at the intersection of Illinois Route 34, when he entered the intersection on a green light. The driver of the 2011 Lincoln MKX was traveling northbound on Illinois Route 34 and entered the intersection with Illinois Route 13 on a red light, striking the rear passenger side of the GMC Safari van. Two passengers in the GMC Safari van, the 23 year old female and one of the two year old male twins, were ejected from their vehicle following impact. The driver of the MKX, Willie D. Langford, was transported from the crash scene by ambulance to an area hospital. The 23 year old female and the two year old male twins were transported via helicopter to hospitals in Evansville, Indiana. ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the Harrisburg Police Department, Saline County Ambulance Service, MedForce Ambulance Service, Air Evac, Life Flight, and Bishop’s Towing. Langford was cited for Disobeying a Traffic Control Signal. Additional Charges are pending.
