At approximately 2 pm Saturday, November 29, 2014, officers with the Mt. Carmel Police Department responded to a report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the1000 block of Pear Street in Mt. Carmel. A 20 year old male, identified as Brandon J. Withers, was found to be deceased. No foul play is suspected, but the incident is still under investigation. Mt. Carmel Police, the Wabash County Coroner’s Office and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services responded to the scene.
