(MT. VERNON, IL) — Summersville Grade School was temporarily evacuated around 10:15 Monday morning, after a bomb threat written in a restroom. The bomb threat, which was discovered by a teacher, was reportedly written in pencil inside an upper-grade girls restroom. Parents were notified of the evacuation and bomb threat, with students being kept at Summersville Baptist Church until a search by the Mt. Vernon Police Department revealed nothing suspicious. Students were allowed to return to the classrooms and classes at 11:30 a.m. A reward is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest in the case.
