(MT. VERNON, IL) — The redevelopment plans for Mt. Vernon’s old Illinois National Guard Armory building has been delayed. Monday night’s Mt. Vernon City Council meeting addressed that the $1.5 million project has been postponed by the new governor as he entered office. Rauner used an executive order to postpone the project for review by his staff. The city council said the project was not canceled, but they are awaiting the results of the review of Rauner’s staff.
