THE LIFE OF LINCOLN

February 22 at 6:30 PM

A Program by David Wolfe. This presentation will cover Lincoln’s life from his humble beginnings in Kentucky. It will cover what he saw and some of the things he did in Kentucky, including his early schooling. From there, it will cover his family moving to Indiana and how he grew up. It will cover some of his adventures and the loss that he had in Indiana. From there we go to Illinois, where we cover the first town he lived in (New Salem). We also will cover his trip down to New Orleans. Then we cover his moving to Springfield, Illinois where he marries Mary Todd Lincoln and talk about his ups and downs while in Springfield. Then we go to his life in the White House, the hard times and the Civil War. Ending with his last days, going to Ford’s Theater.

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT

Feb. 23

Kids must be accompanied by an adult and adults must be accompanied by a kid.  Because of the licensing agreement, we can’t advertise what movies we will be showing. So call us at 242-6322 to find out the movie being shown. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Movie starts at 7 PM.

GAME DAY AT THE LIBRARY

Feb. 24

There will be a GAME DAY at the library  from 11AM to 3PM. There will be board games, card games, and role-playing games. Children are welcomed if accompanied by an adult.

 

KNITTING AND CROCHET WORKSHOP

Patrons who have taken a beginning class of crochet and/or knitting are welcome.  Patrons who know how to crochet and knit are also welcome. This group is not for beginners.  Patrons must have a C.E Brehm Adult card in good standing. They will meet the first Tuesday of the month from 2-4 PM. Patrons must sign up to attend. Please call 242-6322, ext. 2, to register.

THE LIBRARY IS GOING FINE FREE

No more fines at the library. You just need to return your books or other library materials. Lost or damaged items will still need to be paid for. You cannot check out materials while you have overdue items. We cannot waive fines imposed by other libraries.

LOOKING FOR WORK?  TRY MANTRACON FOR HELP

The 3rd Thursday of each month from 1:30 to 2:30 PM in the Meeting Room. They will explain how Mantracon works and help you fill out forms for job seeking.
