(AVISTON, IL) — Two people have died as the result of a three-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on U.S. 50 in Clinton County. Clinton County Coroner Phillip Moss reported 19-year-old Marissa Flanagan, of Vernon, died Saturday, and 62-year-old Randy L. Pulver, of Beckemeyer, died Sunday, as the result of the crash on new U.S. 50 between Trenton and Aviston. The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office dispatch received multiple 911 calls around 3:15 p.m. Saturday reporting the crash. According to reports, Flanagan was driving east when her vehicle crashed head-on with another vehicle. She and Pulver were not in the same vehicle. A press release from the Clinton County Sheriff’s office says first-responders arrived at the scene to find three vehicles involved in the crash. It’s unclear if icy road conditions were a factor in the crash, but reports do indicate there was ice forming on the road at the time. At least one other person involved in the crash was taken to the hospital for treatment. Details regarding that person’s condition or identity have not yet been released. Weather problems kept a dispatched medical helicopter from responding to a request to land at the scene.
