DuQuoin, IL – Illinois State Police District 13 Interim Commander, Lieutenant Shane Alvey, announced Thursday activity and enforcement figures for calendar year 2016 for Illinois State Police District 13. Troopers in District 13, which includes Randolph, Washington, Jefferson, Perry, Franklin, Jackson, and Williamson Counties, recorded 32,242 incidents during the year. In addition, enforcement figures totaled 10,425 citations and 15,769 written warnings, including 5,266 speeding citations, 120 DUIs, 8 Zero Tolerance, 88 Underage Drinking arrests, 1,087 occupant restraint citations, 5,089 written warnings for speeding, and 338 criminal arrests. Troopers also assisted 2,397 motorists, conducted 3,517 Motor Carrier Safety Inspections, and investigated 1,423 traffic crashes. Of those crashes investigated by District 13, 55 were fatal traffic crashes resulting in 61 fatalities.
