(Wood River, IL)  —  Wood River, Illinois is deciding to treat the possession of a small amount of marijuana differently.  Earlier this week, the Wood River City Council passed an ordinance that would make it so that possessing ten-grams or less of pot wouldn’t be a criminal offense.  Mayor Frank Akers says the possession of small amount of marijuana will be treated “more like a traffic ticket” and could come with a fine between 100-and-200 dollars.
