(TRENTON, IL) — Clinton County authorities are investigating Sunday morning reports of a home invasion with shots fired in the Trenton area. According to sheriff’s reports, just before 6:15 Sunday morning, two men kicked in the door of a home in the 3500 block of Old U.S. 50, outside Trenton. Shots were fired in the home when an argument broke out, but contrary to earlier reports that said a man had been shot, the sheriff’s department says no one was hit. Two females living in the home were treated for minor injuries, with one female receiving stitches for her wounds. The suspects in the home invasion are described as two black males, but upon arrival of police they were already gone. A motive for the incident has not yet been determined, but it remains under investigation.
