(Alton, IL) — Police in the Metro East are investigating a drive-by shooting that killed an eleven-year-old boy. Alton authorities say the youngster may have been playing basketball when he was shot last night near the Alton Acres Housing complex. They also believe the gunfire came from a passing car. The Madison County Sheriff’s Department has more than 25 detectives working on the case.
