(Murphysboro, IL) — A State Representative is making an effort to reopen a former Illinois Youth Center in Murphysboro. Terri Bryant announced she has introduced legislation that would provide funding to re-purposed the institution as an adult correctional center. The facility was shut down in 2013 by former Governor Quinn as a cost-saving measure.
