(MT. VERNON, IL) — Mt. Vernon City Council will hold their regular meeting this evening at 7 p.m. with a public hearing set for 6 p.m to consider the application for the certification of the Mt. Vernon/Jefferson County Enterprise Zone and reviewing ordinances for establishing the zone, intergovernmental agreement, and proposed boundaries of the zone. Among items on the regular agenda, the Council will hear bid results for the demolition of the Mt. Vernon Town Homes, the City Manager will request permission to seek bids for several projects regarding Roadway Road and approval for the Huck’s sign plan and building addition, and the City Attorney will provide a number of second readings including one on an ordinance authorizing the City of Mt. Vernon to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with The Village of Waltonville, Village of Dix, and Jefferson County, Illinois. The meeting will be held at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building.
