This Valentine’s season, residents are invited to show their love for both their special someone and their community through Shop the Love, a downtown shopping promotion running February 1–14 in downtown Mt. Vernon.

Hosted by the Downtown Mt. Vernon Development Corporation, Shop the Love is designed to encourage local shopping, dining, and experiences while highlighting the unique businesses that make downtown Mt. Vernon special.

Shoppers can pick up a Shop the Love Passport at participating downtown businesses and receive a stamp at each location they visit. Completed passports may be turned in for a chance to win a Downtown Date Night Gift Basket, featuring items and experiences from local businesses.

“Shop the Love is about celebrating connection—connection to the people we love and connection to our local community,” said Nat Shook, President of the Downtown Mt. Vernon Development Corporation. “Whether you’re planning a Valentine’s date, celebrating Galentine’s Day with friends, or just treating yourself, downtown Mt. Vernon has something for everyone.”

Participating businesses will offer a variety of Valentine’s-themed promotions, experiences, and in-store activities throughout the two-week event. No purchase minimum is required to participate in the passport program, making it accessible and fun for all shoppers.

The campaign will also feature merchant spotlights and social media promotions encouraging visitors to explore downtown, take photos, and share their experiences during the event.
