Nichole Lynn Sauer, 57, of Collinsville, Illinois, passed away at 12:57 am December 8, 2025 at her home. She was born December 27, 1967 in Evansville, Indiana to Patricia Jayne (Hunt) and the late Donald Ren Farris.
Nichole is survived by her son, Dylan Rainer and fiancée, Sarah Siddiqi of Wichita, Kansas; granddaughter, Marya Therese; sisters, Dinah Farris of Navarre, Florida and Suzie Schmidt and husband, Jeff of Mount Vernon, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Josee Redpath of Navarre, Florida, Bryson Redpath of Saint Louis, Missouri, Joe Schmidt of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Libby Schmidt of Saint Louis, Missouri, and Reagan Schmidt of Springfield, Missouri; significant other, Mike Lang; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to her father, Nichole was preceded in death by her uncle, Bob Hunt; cousin, Thomas Burris; and brother-in-law, Jim Redpath.
Nichole was quite the athlete at Mount Vernon Township High School. She was third baseman on the softball team, cross country runner, and played freshman high school basketball. She was also a King City Flippers swimmer and broke many records. Nichole enjoyed bowling and putting puzzles together. She was baptized on November 10, 2025.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Memorials may be made in Nichole’s honor to the Jefferson County Animal Shelter.
