Charles David Price, 78, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 2:47 pm November 7, 2025 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born August 18, 1947 in Mount Vernon to the late Glenn and Alice (Robinson) Price. Charles married Sue (Waite) Price on April 11, 1970 at the Presbyterian Church in Mount Vernon.

Charles is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Morgan of Maryville, Illinois and Jessica Wolf and husband, Chris of Wollongong, Australia; grandchildren, Cole Morgan and girlfriend, Kenzie Hendley of Lebanon, Tennessee, Cade Morgan and girlfriend, Bria Meyer of Maryville, Illinois, and Carter Morgan of Maryville, Illinois; nephews, Stephen Price of Clarksville, Tennessee and Daniel Price of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews on Sue’s side of the family.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Price; and father and mother-in-law, Charles and Ruth Waite.

Charles proudly served his country in the United States Marines and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Jefferson County Historical Society and was passionate about animals and his children and grandchildren. Charles will be deeply missed by all who loved and adored him.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 pm with Mr. John Nelson Wood, Mr. Marty Mills, and Mr. Bud Waite officiating. Memorials may be made in Charles’ honor to Angels on Assignment Food Pantry.
