Quintin L. Kimmel, 85, of Woodlawn, passed away at 1:47 a.m., Friday, May 30, 2025, at his home, with his family by his side.

He was born August 19, 1939, in Norris City, Illinois, the son of Ralph Harrison and Violet (Blake) Kimmel. On March 25, 1988, in Paducah, Kentucky, he married Carolyn Sue “Susie” Pursley, and she preceded him in death on December 10, 2015.

Quintin was a veteran of the United States Army, serving with the 101st Airborne, and later worked as a Postal Clerk for the United States Postal Service. He was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed Ham Radios, and fishing, and was a pilot.

He is survived by a son, Carey Kimmel of Springville, Indiana; daughters, Cheryl Lopez and husband Zeke of Mt. Vernon, and Teresa Hoyt and husband George of Walnut Hill; grandchildren, Alexandria Kelley, Matthew Piercy and wife Lindsay, Ashley Hoffman and husband Doug, Collin Hoyt and fiancée Brianna Ashby, Kelsey Kuhlman and husband Chase, Dan Lopez and wife Tena, and Dana Marlow and husband Jeff; great-grandchildren, Aramani Curry, Androse Florence, Jackson and Loralye Piercy, Andrew, Caleb, and Abby Hoffman, Olivia Lopez, and Evan, Graham, and Liam Marlow; brother, Mike Kimmel and wife Sherry; and sister, Treva Garlick.

In addition to his wife, Carolyn Sue “Susie” Kimmel, he was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Violet Kimmel; and brother-in-law, Paul Garlick.
