SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – Fire crews from Herrin, Carbondale, Murphysboro and Marion are on their way to Florida as part of a Mutual Aid Box Alarm System fire engine strike team to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton that made landfall Wednesday night in Siesta Key south of Tampa Bay.

MABAS is deploying, at the request of Florida, three strike teams for a total of 15 fire engines from around the state and three command vehicles.
