The longest running light aircraft show makes it's home in Mt. Vernon, IL and in 2024 they are celebrating 16 years at the Outland Airport! Director Chris Collins joins Big Jake's show to discuss how important this expo is to the city as well as all the history and aviation advancement that will be on display September 5th-7th.

The Mt. Vernon Township High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) are hosting their 13th Annual Pinkout Game on Friday, October 10th when the Rams take on Granite City. All the proceeds raised from this game will benefit Breast Cancer Research. There are jersey sponsorships available if you or someone you know has been affected by breast cancer, you can honor them by putting a name on the back of a player's jersey. Madelyn Tudor was named the Little Miss Washington County Fair Queen in 2022 and she would go on to win Little Miss Illinois 2023. She is retiring this summer and stopped by WMIX to chat with Big Jake and officially make her retirement speech on the air. We have royalty in the building!
